CHERRY LAKE PLANT, QUANTUM GROUP’S THIRD MEGASOLAR PROJECT IN JAPAN, IS NOW CONNECTED TO THE GRID

The Cherry Lake photovoltaic plant, the third megasolar project of Quantum Group in Japan, was successfully connected to the grid on Sunday, 11 November by CHUDEN (Chubu Electric Power Company).
The Cherry Lake project, a 98.05 MWcc ground-mounted PV plant, is located in Japan’s Mie Prefecture, near the city of Matsusaka, on former golf club land. It is expected to supply electricity to some 60,000 households across the region.
Quantum supervised the permitting, contracting and construction of the plant and ensured its timely completion. Maetel (an ACS Group company) took part in the project as EPC contractor, successfully handling the construction of the project and ensuring grid connection on schedule.
The Cherry Lake project is a further show of Quantum Japan’s ongoing efforts to deploy its pipeline of nearly 500 MW across the country. Quantum Group continues to pursue interests in other jurisdictions around the world, mainly in Latin America, North America, Australia and specific areas of the South Asia region.
